Three Islamic Clerics Arrested For Beheading Man In Ibadan

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three Islamic clerics for allegedly beheading a middle-aged man in Ibadan, the state capital.

According to sources, the victim, who was a worker of one of the suspects, was lured to a bush at Moniya in Akinyele Local Government Area of the state, where he was killed and his head severed.

The suspects were later apprehended at Apete in the Ido Local Government Area of the state, following a tip-off from some residents.

The police spokesperson, Olugbenga Fadeyi, confirmed the incident to AMEBO CITY. He said that the case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department, Iyaganku, for further investigation, and the suspects would be charged to court as soon as the investigation is completed.

He also warned members of the public to be wary of people who claim to be clerics but are involved in criminal activities.

The Nigeria police also assured the people that they would not relent in their efforts to rid the state of all forms of crime and criminality.
