Basketmouth Apologizes to Ayo Makun, Seeks End to Bad Blood

Written by Keji Evelyn

Popular Nigerian comedian Basketmouth has apologized to his colleague Ayo Makun, also known as AY, in a bid to end their decade-long feud.

The two comedians have been at odds over a debt that Makun alleges Basketmouth owes him. According to Makun, Basketmouth invited him to take his place at a comedy show early in his career and then refused to pay him the N30,000 fee for the performance, even though the show’s organizers had made the payment to Basketmouth in advance.

Basketmouth initially denied the allegations, but he has now taken a U-turn and apologized to Makun. In a video shared on Instagram, Basketmouth said that he was “genuinely sorry for any hurt” he had caused to Makun and anyone else in the industry. He also said that he had forgiven Makun for anything he had said or done.

“I just want peace and harmony,” Basketmouth said.

It is unclear whether Makun has accepted Basketmouth’s apology. However, the fact that Basketmouth has apologized is a positive sign. It suggests that he is willing to put the feud behind him and move on.

It will be interesting to see if Makun responds to Basketmouth’s apology. If he does, it could be the start of a reconciliation between the two comedians. This would be good news for fans of Nigerian comedy, as Basketmouth and Makun are two of the biggest names in the industry.
