Phyna, the winner of the 2022 BBNaija ‘Level Up’ edition, has revealed that she was rejected by her parents and had to beg for their love while growing up.

The reality TV star, who won the N100 million prize money in the popular show last year, made this revelation on her Snapchat story on Saturday night, following the viral report that she had abandoned her father since she won the show.

Phyna’s father, Felix Otabor, had accused her of disappearing into thin air as soon as she received her prize money and never returning home to take care of him and his wife. He said he had not seen or heard from Phyna since then, and he only saw her on social media, flaunting her wealth and luxury.

He said he sold all his four cars and stopped being a hearse driver, based on Phyna’s promise to change his life. But he regretted that he followed her advice, as he was left with nothing and no means of livelihood. He said he needed help, as he was suffering in silence.

He appealed to Phyna to have a change of heart and return to her family. He said he loved her and forgave her for whatever she had done wrong.

However, Phyna, who seemed to be heartbroken by the report, took to her Snapchat story to recount how her parents had treated her badly and always made her beg for love while growing up.

She wrote: “Growing up I always hear you are not my daughter. Yet I would beg for parental love. The truth is I have always begged people to love me. Today I have finally accepted it. No wonder, I for say. Guess I’m an ORPHAN.”

Phyna’s revelation has sparked mixed reactions from social media users, as some sympathized with her, while others criticized her for being ungrateful and disrespectful to her parents. Some also advised her to reconcile with her family and settle their differences.
