Street-pop artist, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, better known as Portable, has stirred up the music industry by announcing a significant increase in his service fees. The artist, who recently gained attention for his actions during his UK visit, surprised many with his updated rate card.

In a recent Instagram post, Portable revealed that he would be abandoning his previous fee of N5 million for shows, skits, or features. Starting in the new year, he will now charge $10,000 (N10 Million), marking a substantial increase in his rates.

This unexpected announcement came after a Celestial Church canceled a booking for him to perform at an event, prompting him to reevaluate his pricing strategy.

When on a European tour, Portable was seeing rubbing shoulders with notable industry figures, including Tiwa Savage, Skepta, and Mr Eazi. However, his decision to increase his show and collaboration prices has sparked a debate among fans on social media platforms. Many argue that the price is too steep and that they would prefer to engage someone more serious and talented for that amount.

As the music industry digests this news, it remains to be seen how this bold move will impact Portable’s career in the long run.
