Ooni of Ife urges Nigerians to be patient with Tinubu’s government

Written by Bola Abraham

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has called on Nigerians to be patient with the administration of President Bola Tinubu, who is facing a lot of challenges in managing the economy.

The monarch made the appeal on Monday during his visit to his family compound in Oketase area, Ile-Ife, as part of the activities to mark the grand finale of the Olojo Annual Festival.

He acknowledged that Nigeria is going through a difficult period, with many people suffering from hardship and insecurity.

“I know that people are passing through difficult periods in which they are not finding life easy and truly this is a challenging period. But I know that after this festival, normalcy will return to the country, as the problems we’re facing will soon come to an end,” he said.

He urged Nigerians to support their leaders and cooperate with them to overcome the current crisis.

“We are almost getting there, for gold has to pass through fire before becoming shining. Government alone cannot do it without the cooperation of the masses. Therefore, let all hands be on deck for a tree cannot make a forest, neither any nation can get to his promised land without the contribution of the generality,” he said.

The Olojo Annual Festival is a celebration of the creation of mankind and the supremacy of God. It features various cultural and religious activities, including the wearing of the sacred Aare crown by the Ooni. (NAN)
