Tinubu’s Degree is Genuine, Chicago State University Testifies in Court

Written by Bola Abraham

Chicago State University (CSU) has testified in court that President Bola Tinubu graduated from their institution with a BSc in Accounting in 1979 and that he did not influence their testimony or prepare an affidavit for them.

The university was summoned to appear before The United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on Tuesday to clarify the controversy surrounding Tinubu’s degree, which some of his opponents had claimed was fake or belonged to a female.

The university’s representative, Dr. James Garba, told the court under oath that Tinubu applied to the university as a male and a letter of admission was issued to a male. He said that Tinubu attended and graduated from the university and was issued with a degree certificate.

He also said that the current certificate Tinubu tendered was a replacement certificate that can easily be acquired from third-party vendors and that it did not invalidate his original degree.

He said, “Tinubu applied to the university as a male and a letter of admission was issued to a male. He attended and graduated from the university and was issued with a degree certificate. The current certificate he tendered is a replacement certificate that can easily be acquired from third-party vendors. It does not invalidate his original degree.”

He added that the university never denied Tinubu or his credentials and that they stood by him as their alumnus.
