Please return to PDP – Bode George pleads with Peter Obi

Written by Benjamin Adewumi

Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), to return to the PDP. George made this call while addressing journalists recently.

George stated that the LP was formed out of anger and lacks the structure to win national elections. He said, “The Labour Party doesn’t have the root. I have traversed every state in the country, there is nowhere you will not know or hear about our party, because it carries the full colour of Nigeria.”

He further described the LP as a movement without a solid root, likening it to a wind. He questioned the whereabouts of Obi and expressed his willingness to talk to him if he is open to it.

George emphasized his commitment to inclusiveness for all Nigerians in the political process, especially in the PDP, where he said some members have suffered great injustice in the fight for equity and justice for all. He urged party leaders not to pander towards ethnic affiliation, stating, “PDP is the only true national party.”
